The Intro to Engineering and Design course is an introductory course for engineering and the engineering design process. While there are many variations of the design process, PLTW had provided one for the students. The six steps in order are: define the problem, generate concepts, develop a solution, construct and test a prototype, evaluate solutions, and present solution. The Practical Electronics I course is an introductory course for basic electrical concepts and components.
Lab Safety
When it comes to engineering, lab safety is one of the top priorities when working. Since we use a lot of equipment, it is important to be safe while using them. Some common rules when using the equipment are to wear safety glasses, pay attention to what you are doing, and clean up after yourself. There are also machine specific rules like the ones for the drill press and band saw. Being safe in the lab allows us to work more efficiently since we would also be using the machines correctly.
